🏠 Status#
After finishing my 3rd year of university last December, I suspended my studies and returned to Taiwan. I enlisted in early January and was discharged in late April—feeling so great! Although I won’t resume my studies until September, I’ll be heading back to Korea in mid-May (next week) to adjust my pace of life, handle some visa and residency paperwork, and most importantly, practice drums! The school’s practice rooms are free, high-end, and comfortable, so why not?
During this period before returning to Korea, I’ve been at home playing with my cats, spending time with my parents, occasionally seeing friends, writing my blog, and just chilling out. It’s somewhere between comfortable and a bit unsettlingly idle.
💇 Trying so hard to grow my hair long.
📝 Plans#
Before heading back to Korea, I’m going camping with my friends , and then we’re planning a chill trip to Thailand during this summer. I hope Taiwan stock market can pay my flight tickets (๑´ڡ`๑) you know what I mean.
🏫 School#
Although my graduation recital is still about 10 months away, I’m already considering which songs to perform. Currently, I plan to choose Dave Brubeck’s Take Five and Pat Metheny’s Bright Size Life . Plus, I need to write two original jazz songs. Even though I major in jazz, to be honest, I’m only here because I wasn’t that good at jazz and wanted to practice. Now, the thought of writing songs still gives me a headache.
Before leaving Korea for military service, I worked as an administrative assistant at the school’s international office for a year. I’ll be returning to that position when I resume studies in September—it’s a very nice job.
Since graduation is approaching, I’m constantly looking for ways to stay in Korea and work happily.
🎧 Listening#
While my musical taste is omnivorous, it usually follows cycles. Recently, I’ve returned to Post-hardcore and emo-rock, like Pierce the Veil and Bury Me With You .
🤘 Concerts#
I’m going to Seoul in mid-May to see KiiiKiii
’s first Fan Concert since their debut a year and a half ago ⁽⁽ ◟(∗ ˊωˋ ∗)◞ ⁾⁾
At the end of the year, I’m also going to see My Chemical Romance
and Post Malone
concerts.
🎮 Games#
It seems I’ve just been playing Pokémon—Pokémon Go, as well as the main series and spin-offs on Switch and 3DS. I’m almost finished with the main story of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! Once I’m back in Korea, I’ll have my PC and PS4 to continue playing Monster Hunter and Rainbow Six Siege.
🩻 Health#
Starting this year, I’ve passed the “quarter-century” mark (25 years old) ( ´•̥ו̥` ). I’ve noticed my body starts aching more often in the past year or two. So, while I still love them, I’ve started drinking less alcohol and coffee, avoiding staying up late (actually a habit from the military), and started taking some health supplements. I’ve also started paying attention to information about regular health check-ups. I plan to get the HPV vaccine when I return to Korea.
